about
This website was made completely non-profit, only to help people. This database was created as part of a community service project in an attempt to help those whom so often go unnoticed. This site is meant to be personal, easy to understand, unbiased. It includes as little medical terminology as possible. However, under 'help', if you find anything confusing, feel free to ask. It was also made by a pair of students with limited help from professionals, knowing this, please don't mistake this for medical advice, this is not the voice of a professional. This website is meant to be a stepping stone into allowing you or someone you care about to recover, or manage their illnesse(s). Everyone is different, a mental disorder doesn't define you, an illness isn't who you are. It's a part of you, a part you must learn to accept or to grow beyond. We cannot defeat the unknown, we must first understand what is happening to us. That is precisely what this website was meant to do, to easily and plainly explain illnesses without the negative stigma we often find associated with them or the professionalism of the business world.
Take care, remember to breathe, to try, perhaps to allow us to help you in the way we'd like to. If you ever feel alone just remember, there are people who want to see you strong and hopeful. If you cannot find them in your own life, allow yourself to find that person in you. Or in us.
Thank you.
MORE INFORMATION: This database was also made with teenagers/adolescents and their families in mind. It is meant for those who may be younger to understand what they are suffering through or for those who are close to them to learn more. Note that anyone of any age can suffer from these disorders, but that it was written with language, and a mindset, that we hope many can understand.
