All people have stress, and it can be a good thing if it motivates you, but too much of it can be a dangerous thing. Anxiety is characterized by when you have constant stress, and/or sometimes sudden, large amounts of it during panic attacks. Panic attacks are usually caused by big changes such as moving where you live and a loved one dying or by high stress situations like academic stress and emotional problems. Here are some symptoms of panic attacks...
- irregular heartbeat
- cold skin
- muscle tension
- butterflies in your stomach
- hard to focus
- hard to sleep
PANIC ATTACK SYMPTOMS:
Some people describe having a panic attack as similar to having a heart attack, or drowning.
- feeling hot or cold
- wanting to run away
- difficulty breathing
- feeling very scared or stressed
Unfortunately, there is no definite reason for anxiety so there is no definite treatment for anxiety, but scientist have concluded that people with anxiety usually don't have enough serotonin in the brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter, sends signals to the brain, that affects a person's sleep and mood.
Medications for anxiety are a variety of antidepressants and antiphyschotics. PLEASE SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP FOR MEDICATION.
A main type of therapy for anxiety is psychotherapy. Psychotherapy is a form of therapy where a trained physcotherapist listens to the patients problems and provides advice that will help patients see their problems in a different way, so that they can deal with them better. Other types of therapy are used, and therapy for anxiety is usually most effective when coupled with a medicine of some sort.
- (USUALLY) After about ten minutes a panic attack will reach its peak and then fade away, but, for some they can be much longer or shorter.
