ANOREXIA
Anorexia is arguably one of the most well known disorders, second to depression, anxiety, and ADHD. When one thinks of an eating disorder, anorexia is almost always the first to come to mind. This disorder is characterized by starvation, restriction, over exercise, and/or tight control of one's diet to remain thin or get thinner. It is suggested that anorexia usually shows up first in adolescent or teenage girls (though it can happen to anyone) struggling with their body image or desiring to be thin(ner).
This disorder is considered to be difficult to cure as those suffering from this disorder often don't seek out or desire help from others. Please be aware that this disorder is much more than wanting to be 'skinny' and can often be lethal. This eating disorder is often covalent (occuring with other disorders) such as bulimia, depression, anxiety, body dysmorphic disorder, and many others. If you or your loved one is showing signs of this disorder please seek help from a professional immediately.

*This is not a professional diagnoses, and is simply for reference.*
TREATMENT:
Sadly, there is currently no medication that can 'cure' anorexia. However, there are forms of therapy, recovery centers, and some medications that can ease the process of recovery. Anorexia recovery is a long and slow process but is usually treatable.
MEDICATION:
As previously stated, there is no medicine that can cure anorexia. However, there are depression and anxiety medications that can be taken to aid the process. Please seek a professional to find out what is right for you or your loved one.
THERAPY:
Many types of therapy are used to treat anorexia, different types of therapy can be more or less effective for each person's individual needs. The most common types of therapy are family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectal behavioral therapy.
OTHER METHODS:
For some people neither of these methods will work. In this case sometimes people opt/or are sent to rehabilitation center (an area where one is sent to engage in activities to aid recovery) or in extreme cases a hospital.
FACTS:
-20 million women and 10 million men in the U.S. have an eating disorder at some point in their lives. (includes ALL eating disorders)
-Around 4% of people who suffer from anorexia will die from it.
